Our Board of Trustees
ANN TAYLOR, PRESIDENT

Ann Taylor has been a member of Unity for 38 years.
She says, “I serve on UCPC’s Board of Trustees because I am committed to our church and would like to use my leadership skills to help steer its continued growth.” Ann currently serves as a member of our church’s Platform Committee; and she writes and leads the meditation portion of our Sunday Service.
During the week she works as a school counselor, a job that requires flexibility, multi-tasking, strong communication skills, and a calm, steady demeanor. It is her hope that these qualities make her an effective board member and an asset to our church family.

Rob DeMotsis, Vice president

As a member of the church, I serve on the Usher Team, am involved in social activities and events, and am willing to do whatever else I am needed for. I have also been an active leader in the Memphis technology community and have helped organize multiple events for that community. I am a manager at my current place of employment. As a member of the Board of Trustees, I would like to be able to contribute in some of the decisions that we make as a church family.
Penny Hathaway, treasurer

Penny serves as treasurer for the board. She also uses her business skills managing the church book store, where you can see her smiling face most Sundays before and after church.
Fluffy Jaquess, secretary

I serve as a Unity Board member and a prayer chaplain. My expertise is working with at-risk populations, especially children with special needs. I want to be of service to this community so each of us can reach his/her highest spiritual potential and let our Light on the Hill shine even brighter through our unconditional love and prayers. Namaste.
Tim Ryan

Tim writes: Growing up in a fundamentalist, evangelical church with its hellfire and damnation teachings, along with decades of struggling with God and religion, has given me a deep appreciation for the peace, love, and acceptance of UCPC and of Charles Fillmore’s teachings. I am an active member of the Usher Team, entrusted with assisting in counting the offering. As a member of this team, I also make myself available to assist with things like memorial services and other events here at the church.
Barbara Thompson

Barbara has been in Unity for 30+ years. She attends Sunday service and volunteers as Platform Assistant and serves as an Usher regularly. She supports our fundraising efforts and our community outreach efforts.
She writes: "I am committed to the health and growth of this ministry in the Memphis area and with 30+ years of studying and practicing Unity principles, I can continue to be an effective leader of UCPC. I am retired and have ample time to serve the church community."
