Our Sunday Service

Here is the outline of our Sunday service, with links to our FAQ page for some of the elements of our service you might not be familiar with.
Opening Song
Presented by our Ensemble with words on the screen for you to sing along if you wish followed by a moment to be greeted by those seated around you.
Welcome and Acknowledge Visitors
Our Platform Assistant opens the service with a few words about UCPC. We won’t ask you to stand up or raise your hand, but we do want to take this time to thank you for choosing to be with us! And if you give a little wave, it will be met with a smile.
Opening Prayer
Our Minister leads in our opening prayer, and it isn’t always the traditional “every head bowed, every eye closed” type of prayer. We’re even known to share a giggle with God from time to time.
Statement of Being led by the Platform Assistant
The Statement of Being is traditionally used in Unity services as a centering reminder of who God is and who we are in and with that God essence within.
Congregational Song
An opportunity for all of us to join together in “making a joyful noise”.
Reading of The Daily Word
Our Platform Assistant will share that Sunday’s reading, taken from The Daily Word magazine, published since 1924.
Preparation for Meditation
Our Music Team will lead a calming, meditative song that prepares our minds for the meditation led by Pastor Chris. You may sing along, or simply sit and let the music lead you into a place of calm receptiveness.
Meditation
Many people who come to Unity are unfamiliar with the practice of meditation. The best way to describe meditation is the adage “Prayer is when we talk to God, meditation is when we listen.” Guided meditations are provided that take us to that place of being open to that still, small voice in an atmosphere of peace and tranquility accompanied by soothing music from our Music Director Angelo Rapan.
Special Music
Here at UCPC we are blessed with an incredible Music Team led by world renowned pianist and composer Angelo Rapan. We know you will come to look forward to what they offer before and after the message as much as we do.
Message
Our Minister never ceases to inspire, uplift, and occasionally challenge us with spirit-filled messages.
Special Music
Another opportunity to bask in the beauty of music, and catch our breath after Chris’ message.
Prosperity Prayer, Giving and Receiving of Offerings, Prosperity Affirmation, and Blessing of Offerings and Prayer Requests
In preparation for the giving and receiving of offerings, we join in reciting Unity’s Prosperity Prayer. Following the offering collection, during which we are treated to instrumental accompaniment, we affirm together UCPC’s personal affirmation of our prosperity before Pastor Chris blesses the offerings and prayer requests with a prayer.
Announcements and forming our Closing Circle
While details about our upcoming events and activities are provided in your bulletin, we do take a few minutes every Sunday to point out specific events and requests for volunteers. We endeavor to keep this as brief as possible to respect everyone’s time. Following the announcements, we circle around the sanctuary, join hands, and close our service with The Peace Song and Prayer for Protection before we are dismissed with a closing prayer.

We hope this helps you know what to expect before you join us for the first time. We encourage you to come a little early and enjoy a cup of coffee in our Hospitality Area, or poke around in the Gift Shop (open before and after service) stocked with items sourced from local artisans.
I honor the place in you in which the entire universe dwells.
I honor the place in you which is of love, of truth, of light, and of peace.
When you are in that place in you, and I am in that place in me ...
