"A people without the knowledge of their past history, origin, and culture is like a tree without roots.” Marcus Garvey As we venture forward into our bright, new future we are well served to honor those who paved the path that has brought us where we are today that will lead to where we go tomorrow. This is the chronological history of the Unity ministries and ministers that make up the history of the two entities - Unity Church of Memphis and First Unity Church - that merged together beginning in October 2012 to form Unity Church of Practical Christianity. This history was created during a workshop facilitated by Rev. Albert Wingate in March 2013. Our gratitude is deep for those whose vision and efforts brought into being that which we are seeking to grow today.  |
