"Quietly entering the inner chamber within the soul, shutting the door to the external thoughts of daily life, and seeking conscious union with God is the highest form of prayer we know."

Prayer is one of the most powerful processes in the world to heal, reveal, enrich, and uplift our lives. To support this practice, we have established a Prayer Chaplain Ministry. Prayer chaplains are trained by our Licensed Unity Teacher, Dr. Amy Fielder, to support your prayer needs. A prayer chaplain is available every Sunday after our 10:30 service to pray with you in our prayer chapel.
Additionally, we have created a Wellness Calling Program. Participants in this program are paired with a prayer chaplain. Your prayer chaplain will contact you once a month to support you with any prayer needs and will hold you in prayer daily. Should a need arise between contacts, you can contact your chaplain for additional support.

I chose to become a Chaplain this year in order to strengthen my conscious connection with Spirit and to be of service to my church, and I am very happy that I did. It has been such a blessing be a prayer partner to fellow church members. I have found Chaplaincy to be rewarding and a blessing to me by praying for others.

I became a prayer chaplain as a way for me to serve the church in its effort to be in contact with all of the members. I wanted to get training in the art of prayer and be able to pray with and for others. I have found that folks respond to a moment of positive and loving conversation as well as--or in some cases, better than--any "prayer" that I have to offer.

I serve as a Unity Board member and a prayer chaplain. My expertise is working with at-risk populations, especially children with special needs. I want to be of service to this community so each of us can reach his/her highest spiritual potential and let our Light on the Hill shine even brighter through our unconditional love and prayers. Namaste.

Being a prayer chaplain has given me the opportunity to interact with more church members and get closer to others that I did not know well.

Having come back to Unity church after a long absence, I found I needed to learn more about giving in prayer and being able to share and serve. The experience is a gift as I receive equally back what I share in prayer requests. I have found it to be an incredible blessing in my life.

Terra Singletarry
Terra Singletary has been involved in prayer ministries for over 40 years since attending Christ for the Nations where she met her husband. She has been thankful to be a part of Unity since moving back to Memphis after her husband passed 9 years ago. Incorporating affirmative prayer and new thought has changed her prayer life and she’s blessed to share it with others. “Wherever we are, God is, and all is well.”

Prayer works. For the last 26 3/4 years I have opened my prayer ritual with: "Dear God, if the ship hits the sand (a cleaned-up version of the original), please grant me the strength to not pick up a drink or a drug. I am then available for whatever comes my way.
The Prayer of Protection
[James Dillet Freeman]
The Light of God surrounds you.
The Love of God enfolds you.
The Power of God protects you.
The Presence of God watches over you.
The Mind of God guides you.
The Life of God flows through you.
The Laws of God direct you.
The Peace of God abides within you.
The Joy of God uplifts you.
The Strength of God renews you.
The Beauty of God inspires you.
Wherever you are, God is!
And all is well.
Amen.
