Who We Are
UCPC has always been a diverse and inclusive community where we celebrate the divine expressions of God in each other in whatever ways that manifests. This year we are making a conscious, intentional effort to increase our awareness of and engagement in diversity, inclusion, and matters of social justice within the greater MidSouth community.
Towards that end, we have formed the Beloved CommUnity Builders, a member led initiative whose intention is to focus on the meaning of diversity, inclusion, and social justice; and how we can use the Unity teachings and message to increase and improve those aspects of, first, our church community and then outward into the MidSouth community.

Get involved!
We want to get you involved in the ways that fit you best. To provide the framework within which we will be working, here are the Mission and Vision Statements of The BCB.
Mission:
Creating racial and cultural awareness through dialogue, openness, understanding, stability, and change.
Vision:
Our vision is a world where universal love and equality is shared among all people. Where each person honors the God within every other human with acts of kindness, generosity and compassion, creating a world of oneness and social justice.
Please take a few minutes to answer the questions in this brief survey. There is a space at the end for you to share your ideas for activities and events that can become part of this ongoing Initiative/Ministry here at UCPC. One of our Steering Team members will be in touch with you once your survey responses have been received.

The I of the Storm Book Discussion
Join us for an in-person guided discussion of this book by Unity Minister and author Gary Simmons. We will meet in the sanctuary to assure that adequate social distancing space is available.
From Unity.org: "Gary Simmons goes beyond conflict management - beyond conflict resolution to conflict transformation. Simmons shows how to experience conflict from your center instead of from the outside world where all is seeming chaos. Just as those at the "eye" of a storm experience calm, the "I" of your storm of conflict is where you experience your wholeness and spiritual essence. You can learn to transform fear into fearlessness...resistance into nonresistance. This book is ideal for anyone struggling with relationship discord or personal challenges and, in general, for everyone who feels uncomfortable with conflict." |
