What to expect at one of our services

When you arrive at UCPC, the best way we know to describe the experience we want you to have comes from the lyrics of one of our favorite songs “Holy Ground”: As I walked through the door, I sensed a presence, and I knew this was the place where love abides.
​Whether you’re joining us for our Sunday service in the main church building, or your children are joining our Sunday School program across the parking lot in Isabel House (our Youth Department building), it is our intention that your experience be one of love and acceptance. 
Our Sunday services begin at 10:30 and generally last for an hour. During that time you will experience the gifts of our music team and enjoy an uplifting, inspirational message. We are occasionally asked what our ‘dress code’ is, and to that we answer “Come as you are most comfortable!” For some that means jeans and t-shirts, for others Sunday service is a time to dress up. The diversity of our congregation extends to our fashion sense, so you’ll see a little bit of everything. Including  beautiful headwraps, hats, and an occasional kilt.

Hello Fellow Seeker!​

My name is Mickey Quinton. I serve as the minister of Unity Church. Like many other people, I came from an Evangelical background as a minister in the Pentecostal tradition. I became discouraged with the evangelical emphasis on sin and hell. I wandered for a period in my life, wanting a spiritual path that offered hope and love. I finally found it in Unity. Unity offers several special things like nowhere else, to wit:

1. We reject the unbiblical doctrine of eternal torment. We find this terrible teaching is easily dismissed with a thoughtful examination of the scriptures from a metaphysical perspective.
2. We embrace not only the teachings of the Bible, but also that of other faith traditions. We believe Truth is Truth wherever we find it. 
3. We interpret the Bible not literally, but Metaphysically. We search for the precious hidden meaning beyond the literal.
4. We embrace all people; rich and poor, black and white, gay and straight. All are welcome in our loving fellowship.
5. We reach out to people experiencing homelessness as partners with Manna House.

These are some of the things that had the greatest impact on my decision to embark on this "positive path of spiritual living". Perhaps you can join us on this remarkable journey too!
