We would like to take a moment to share with you where we are in our current ministerial search. To begin with: There are no secrets! This is a very open process, but there will be times when we have nothing to report. The congregation will be informed of each and every step along the way and will have opportunities for input as to what they desire in our new minister. A congregational survey will be available on the web site on the What's Happening page on Wednesday, June 3, for you to download. A link to the download will also be in the weekly email blast on June 4. On Sunday, June 7, if you haven't already downloaded your copy, copies will be available for all church attendees on the table in the back of the sanctuary. You can also pick up a survey at the office through Wednesday, June 10. The deadline for turning in your survey will be June 10, after which results will be compiled and used to finalize the Vacancy Packet being sent to Unity Worldwide Ministries. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask Pearl Smitherman, Committee Chair, either in person, by phone (901 -216-7387), or email [email protected]. The Ministerial Search Committee and the Board of Trustees are working diligently to move their feet in a direction that will bring to us the best experiences as we move through this transition. As a congregation, we are charged with opening our hearts and minds to the opportunities Spirit offers. This is a process that involves us all, and we must work together, investing our energies in whatever way we can, using the talents God has given each of us to make this the most powerful experience we have ever had as a church body. Divine Order is revealing itself in so many ways. It is our intention to be transparent as we work our way through the phases and have information to pass on. Our prayer is to stay focused and trust in Spirit. On Sunday, May 31st, there will be a Farewell Luau Potluck after the service to celebrate new beginnings for UCPC and Reverend Lawrence. Please bring a dish you might have at a Luau and be prepared for a gala event!
From 7:30-9:30 pm Grace Benz will lead a Sacred Circle Gathering in the sanctuary. Prayers and blessings for the highest good of all concerned will be shared, and everyone will have an opportunity to express their appreciation for the leadership, love and friendship Reverend Lawrence has shared at UCPC. May we come together as a spiritual family, trusting and embracing God's Divine Plan unfolding before us now, in joy and celebration! |
