Gentlemen, it's time to iron your aprons and get ready to put your best fork forward for our Third Annual Real Men Cook Potluck and competition for the title of UCPC's Top Chef! Sunday, October 7th is the date for this year's event, so you have plenty of time to perfect your signature recipe. Sign up on the sheet on the information table in the sanctuary, or contact the office and we'll add you to the list.
All fundraising proceeds from this year's event will benefit C.O.T.A.** in honor of Team Sam M to assist with transplant-related expenses. **The Children's Organ Transplant Association (COTA) helps children and young adults who need a life-saving transplant by providing fundraising assistance and family support. COTA is the nation’s only fundraising organization solely dedicated to raising life-saving dollars in honor of transplant-needy children and young adults. 100% of each contribution made to COTA in honor of our patients helps meet transplant-related expenses. COTA’s services are free to our families, and gifts to COTA are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law. Getting Under the Rock of ForgivenessJoin us Sunday, September 23rd at 12pm as Charles Holt brings his powerful workshop "Getting Under the Rock of Forgiveness" to UCPC. With every opportunity to step further into our greater good and life journey is the likelihood that something from our past will resurface. These seemingly, unwarranted mental and emotional intruders rise to the occasion in our mind to create an impulse for us to extract more of our true essence and character. When this occurs, we find the treasure of our heart under the debris - under the rock. About Charles: Charles Holt is an actor, singer, and producer who has starred in some of the most celebrated productions in American theater history including Smokey Joe's Café, Jesus Christ Superstar, and The Lion King. Charles has addressed many groups and organizations including TEDx, Engaged Diversity Leadership Conference, and NCORE (National Conference on Race and Ethnicity). Tickets available for purchase online HERE or in the church Gift Shop. The Affinity Group, UCPC's A Course of Love study group is reconvening beginning Thursday, August 16, 2018.
About A Course Of Love A Course of Love is a living course that empowers us to recognize, through our felt experience, the truth of who we are as human and divine beings - a truth much more magnificent than we could previously imagine. ACOL.
Eric Ehrhard has been a student of The Course since 1980 and has shared The Course in group settings ever since. From Eric: Though The Course is an individual experience to your own awakening, I have found over the years that as The Course itself says; to have something we must give it away. Everything is thought and thoughts shared lead us to the realization that we are co-creators of everything that is real. |
